Music by Anthony Baldwin

I play guitar and sing, for those who didn't already know.  I count among my influences such artists as Jerry Garcia, James Taylor, Roberto Carlos, REM's Peter Buck, Edge from U2, and others, while I listen to music as far ranging as Gregorian chants, Baroque greats (Bach & Vivaldi, etc.), Irish folk, Indian ragas, Rock en Espaņol, Brazilian Samba, Forrķ, Sertaneja, Colombian Vallenatos, Bachatas, Merengue, Salsa, and much more.
What can I say...I LOVE music!

You can now hear me on Last.FM: Anthony Baldwin on Last.FM

First, and most recent, recorded on 11 January 2009, in my office in New Haven, CT, with a cheap microphone, on one track, but done with much love, my tribute to Jerry Garcia:

To Lay Me Down (acoustic, mp3, 6:14)

In 1991, at Sonic Iguana Studios in Lafayette, Indiana, owned by former Rattail Grenadier bassist, Mass Giorgini, I recorded an album with Mark Lechmann. We were called the Hungie Bungies, and whipped out a folksy, acoustic, sometimes psychedalic repertoire of our own original songs.
We released an 11 song record on cassette, called Fun Things in the Kitchen.
Here a few cuts from those sessions:
  1. All 2 Sirius / Sparky - by Anthony Baldwin
  2. Pale Social - by Anthony Baldwin
  3. Atwell - by Anthony Baldwin
  4. In Your Head - by Mark Lechmann (on which I did backing vocals and guitars).

These mp3 files were made from a 17 year old cassette, by running the headphone output from my stereo into my soundcard's microphone input, using Audacity to record the songs, and lame to convert to mp3.  As such, the quality is not great, but, hey, perhaps you'll enjoy them anyway.
To my knowledge, Mark still has the original DATs, but my attempts to contact him and get a CD made have been unfruitful.
Working with Mark was incredible, and I will never forget the great times we had in the studio, playing live, or just hanging out.
He is an incredible musician, writer, and singer, and is still playing on the local music scene in Indiana.  (check out Mark's music here).
